OBRAS Portugal is a stone building of 200 years old; a typical Portuguese Monte. It overlooks a savanna-alike landscape with a medieval fortress on the horizon. OBRAS-Portugal consists of a main house with several apartments and work spaces, two cottages, four artists’ studios, some open-air working places and a swimming pool. The surrounding nature gives infinitive options for working, walking and relaxing.This pages gives an impression of the buildings.
You will have your own private apartment and, if you wish, your own studio. You are welcome to rearrange the furniture in your apartment or remove paintings from the walls, but please return everything to its original state when you leave.
The kitchens in all apartments and cottages are equipped with basic amenities, including a refrigerator, cooking plate, microwave, coffee machine, electric kettle, and pots and pans. The tap water is of high quality.
Apartments
Casa Principal
Casa Principal is the main house. It has six apartments, a music room, a library, and a (annexed?)(small?) satellite studio
The apartments have a floor area of approximately 32 m², divided into a living/bedroom, kitchenette, and bathroom.
Apartments 1 and 4 have a double bed.
Apartments 3, 5, 7, and 8 have two single beds.
All apartments have both an inside and an outside entrance and a private terrace at the outside door. Apartments 7 and 8 have extended terraces.
The kitchen in all apartments and cottages has basic equipment such as fridge, cooking plate, microwave, coffee machine and water boiler, pots and pans. The tap water is of high quality.

Casa Vicente
Casa Vicente is located next to the Casa Principal. It has two terraces, one facing the Casa Principal and the other overlooking a valley. It has three 5 x 5m rooms, a kitchen and bathroom. One or two rooms can be converted into a studio. It has three outside doors and two terraces.
The kitchen has basic equipment such as fridge, cooking plate, microwave, coffee machine and water boiler, pots and pans. The tap water is of high quality.
Casa Miradouro
Casa Miradouro (6x9m) is located slightly up hills about 50 meters from the Casa Principal. It has a great view in all directions and terraces on three sides. It has a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Its living room is big enough to use as a working studio.
The kitchen has basic equipment such as fridge, cooking plate, microwave, coffee machine and water boiler, pots and pans. The tap water is of high quality.
Ateliers
Several working studios are available. These are basically empty spaces which can be furnished with tables, easels and spot lights according of the wishes of the artist. There are some tools, paint, brushes and other artist supplies available. But for to be sure about quality and quantity better bring your own material or order it.
Casa Miradouro also has a floor area of 75 m² and includes a living room/studio, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom. It has one outside door and three terraces.
